AP Police Scientific Assistant Recruitment 2026: 43 Vacancies in Forensic Science Laboratory

The State Level Police Recruitment Board (SLPRB), Andhra Pradesh has issued a notification for the direct recruitment of Scientific Assistants in the Forensic Science Laboratory Department. The notification, Rc. No. 83/SLPRB/Rect.1/2026 dated 16 September 2026, invites eligible candidates to apply for Scientific Assistant positions in Physical, Chemical and Biology/Serology disciplines

A total of 43 vacancies have been notified. These include 10 vacancies for Scientific Assistant (Physical), 13 for Scientific Assistant (Chemical), and 20 for Scientific Assistant (Biology/Serology).

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess an M.Sc. qualification in the relevant subject, as prescribed for the respective Scientific Assistant post.

For the Biology/Serology post, the notification covers relevant postgraduate qualifications including Biology, Zoology, Botany, Microbiology, Biotechnology and M.Sc. Forensic Science with Biology specialization, subject to the detailed eligibility conditions in the notification.

Candidates should carefully check the subject-wise qualification requirements before selecting a post.

Age Limit

The maximum age limit is 44 years, with age reckoned as on 1 July 2026. Applicable age relaxations are provided according to the relevant government rules and the conditions specified in the notification.

Application Fee

The prescribed application fee is ₹600 for eligible AP local OC/BC/EWS candidates and ₹300 for eligible AP local SC/ST candidates. Candidates who are non-local to Andhra Pradesh are required to pay ₹600, subject to the notification conditions.

The fee is to be paid through the online payment facility provided on the SLPRB website.

Applicants are required to provide the prescribed personal and educational details and upload the required documents, including photograph, signature and applicable certificates.

Candidates applying for Scientific Assistant posts must select only one appropriate post code — 61, 62 or 63 — based on their educational eligibility. Submission of more than one application is subject to rejection as specified in the notification.
