Delhi Approves ₹151.81 Crore Regional Forensic Lab as 20,000+ Reports Await Analysis

Delhi has approved a ₹151.81 crore Regional Forensic Science Laboratory at Sheikh Sarai to tackle the growing backlog of 20,000+ pending forensic reports. The new facility, expected within two years, will support South, South-East and Central Delhi while easing the workload of the Rohini FSL. Equipped with modern forensic infrastructure, the laboratory aims to speed up evidence examination, improve scientific investigations, and strengthen the implementation of India’s new criminal laws.
