Lucknow | Forensic examination of digital devices linked to former resident doctor Dr Rameezuddin Nayak, also known as Dr Rameez, has reportedly uncovered photographs, videos and screen recordings of social-media conversations involving women doctors and other women. The recovery forms part of the ongoing investigation into allegations of sexual exploitation, intimidation and pressure to convert at King George’s Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow.
According to reports, investigators examined laptops, mobile phones and two hard drives, each with a storage capacity of 500 GB. The examination reportedly identified photographs and videos of the complainant and other women stored across different folders.
Digital Evidence Recovered from Multiple Devices
The reported findings include photographs and videos recovered from a 500 GB hard drive associated with an HP laptop. A second 500 GB hard drive, recovered with an Acer laptop, reportedly contained similar material.
Investigators also reportedly found photographs and screen recordings of social-media conversations on a Vivo mobile phone linked to the accused.
The recovered material has reportedly been secured by investigators, with the hard drives sealed to preserve the digital evidence. Authorities are examining the origin of the files, the circumstances in which they were created and whether any material was shared with other individuals.
Alleged Blackmail and Intimidation Under Investigation
A major focus of the investigation is whether private photographs, videos or recorded conversations were allegedly used to threaten or blackmail women.
Investigators are reportedly examining whether the material was created without consent, circulated to third parties or used to exert pressure on the complainant and other women. The possibility of additional victims is also being examined.
These questions will require examination of the underlying digital evidence, including file metadata, device records, communication histories and other relevant electronic data. The reported recovery of files, by itself, does not establish how they were created or whether they were used for criminal purposes.
Financial and Institutional Aspects Also Under Scrutiny
The investigation has reportedly expanded to include the possible involvement of individuals associated with KGMU's Biochemistry Department. The roles of two assistant professors are being examined, according to reports.
Investigators are also looking into allegations concerning the possible misuse of government research grants or fellowship funds, as well as financial dealings and investments reportedly connected with certain medical institutions.
These aspects remain under investigation and should not be treated as established wrongdoing.
Background of the KGMU Case
The case came to light in December 2025, when a woman doctor associated with KGMU filed a complaint against Dr Rameezuddin. She alleged sexual exploitation, pressure to convert and threats involving private photographs and videos.
An FIR was registered at Lucknow's Chowk police station on December 23, 2025. The investigation was subsequently taken up by the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF).
Earlier reporting also documented allegations made by another woman doctor. The accused has denied neither been convicted nor found guilty by a criminal court in the proceedings described in the reports cited here; the allegations remain subject to investigation and judicial scrutiny.
